Sue Garrity, MPT, CLT

staff4Sue Garrity received her Bachelor’s Degree at Rutgers University, followed by a Masters in Physical Therapy from Hahnemann University, graduating in 1997. Sue began her professional career at Abington Hospital treating a variety of conditions including neurological diseases, post surgical cases, acute traumas and more. Additionally while at Abington, Sue completed extensive training in lymphedema evaluation and manual lymphatic drainage, commonly utilized in cancer care, with Dr. Robert Lerner, Steve Norton and Guenter Klose with Lerner Lymphedema Services, PC.

In 2000, Sue joined The Office of Christine F. Hayes, PT, PC located in Chester County, utilizing her skills in both orthopedics and oncology. Sue worked with many oncology physicians communicating on behalf of our lymphedema clientele in the practice. Additionally, Sue has performed several speaking engagements on the subject of lymphedema prevention, diagnosis and treatment to the local support groups of our community and Main Line Health.

After the birth of her second child, Sue left the practice in 2004 to pursue Homecare while balancing an active family. Her homecare experiences included geriatric care, lymphedema in the home setting and a variety of orthopedic and neurological disorders. She rejoined Christine F. Hayes, PT PC in 2011 contributing her expertise in orthopedics, sports medicine and lymphedema management. Sue recently completed a course in Myofascial Release and is looking forward to additional studies in manual therapy. Sue is currently working part-time in the practice and is a “Direct Access Provider”.

Sue loves to work with people, and is especially interested in travel, having grown up in South Africa. She did ballet for many years and now enjoys several different sports such as skiing and tennis, which have further directed her attention towards injuries related to sport and balance. She lives in Blue Bell with her husband and two boys.
