Hip Pain
When you suffer from hip pain that is originating in the hip joint from arthritis, degenerative joint disease or a labral tear, it can be difficult to put weight through the leg for walking and stairclimbing. Even sitting can be problematic over time. Pain typically shows up in the groin and may also progress to the inside of your knee!
Other conditions of the hip include: Tendonitis/Bursitis of the hip which typically creates pain on the outside of the hip as it involves soft tissue. When the IT band becomes tight and irritable, it puts additional pressure on the bursa creating pain in both areas which typically travels down the outside of the hip to the knee. Lying on your side is often painful with limitations in stairclimbing and walking.
Tendinopathy is a more chronic form of inflammation in the muscle tendon typically from injury or repetitive microtrauma to the involved area, which creates scar tissue or thickening of the injured tendon often accompanied with exquisite tenderness to palpation, loss of strength and mobility.
“I was fortunate to have found Christine Hayes a couple of years ago for my hip problem. Christine complimented PT therapy with iv laser treatments which helped me tremendously. Finished my PT laser treatments pain free. Several months ago I was dealing with quite a bit of inflammation in my hand which was causing pain & dexterity problems. Christine used the iv laser treatments again on my hand. Like magic my hand is back to normal. I highly recommend the iv laser treatments.” –Patricia Langan
Comprehensive Treatment for these conditions in our practice, typically involves using our Class IV Diowave Laser, which is designed to decrease pain and inflammation, increase stem cell production, collagen synthesis, improve DNA and RNA all which help to eliminate pain and improve function. Additionally, we incorporate joint and soft tissue mobilization to create space in the joint, integrated exercises design to strengthen the hip, add flexibility and promote pain-free function.
